In 1983, Steve Martin started his own auctioneering company and took to the box for the first time.
His skills as a great communicator along with sound sales and mechanical experience, soon bore fruit. This resulted in Martin Auctioneers making vast inroad into the auction industry, to its present highly respected position. Much in demand as an auctioneer to raise funds for charity and sportsmans benefit years, Steve has always given up freely of his own time and expertise to assist in raising money for any worthy cause.

Steve was joined in 2000, by his son Jody, who headed up the IT and Purchasing departments. In 2009, Jody was made joint member and later sole member on the sad passing of Steve in 2012. Jody has an ability to engage with all stakeholders and has strong problem-solving and analytical skills. The latter , which are vital for the Auction Industry. Jody continues to uphold the family legacy with strict morals and ethics, just as Steve would have.
